Chest : Place the tape close under the arms and make sure the tape is flat across the back.
Length : Place the tape at shoulder high point and measure till over your hips.

I bought this backpack for my daughter
I bought this backpack for my daughter who's going to college this year. Her campus is huge and I was concerned that she would hurt her back lugging all those books around. It seems like there's enough padding!
